Thermal Cycling Tops
Lots of thin layers will keep you warmer than two thick layers. This is due to warm air getting trapped bwtween the layers. This will also allow you to regulate your temperature more easily by taking off one layer at a time. Get a ‘thermal' base layer next to your skin to avoid a dampness next to your skin. Cycling tops normally have 2 or 3 pockets at the back that make carrying extras - food and small tools easier.
