A Cycling Shoe lesson learned...
I was once the victim of a dreadful pair of cycling shoes when I saw the 82' Tour De France as a kid. I rode from one end of France to another and oh boy they were uncomfortable... So seriously, get some advice on buying a decent pair of cycle shoes that you can feel comfortable in without breaking the bank. Here's a few cycle shoe tips from us.

If you've ever wondered what the extremely stiff soul is all about (and I don't mean the etherial one;) - it's all designed to transfer as much power as possible from your legs to the tarmac without being energy inefficient in between - ie in the foot itself.

What brands on Cycling Shoes?
Always try before you buy - and here's a great tip - try before you buy especially if you want to buy cycling shoes online. Our experience is that nearly hald of all bike shoes ordered mail order are returned because of fitting problems - ok - you heard it here first:). As far as make goes -, like all things you get what you pay for... but some are a little on the pricier side just due to the name than others. Ask the guy behind the counter what he uses but beware - feet like cycle shoe manufacters come in fat, thin, medium, average... you name it. Get the point. Good.

Note: European Bike shoes are renowned for being some of the best cycling shoes but they are also well known for being somewhat narrow in design.

Sidi shoe design is very precise so get a pair of these on as soon as you think about buying some. Certain other brands are a little more broad in terms of the feet they can acommodate.

How Much should I Spend on a pair of Cycling Shoes?
A decent pair of cycling shoes should set you back no less than £60 and preferably the more you spend the better - within reason. Don't splash out on those rediculous chrome finish ones that look like they should be used at the disco rather than the cycling track - or you may be disqualified before you get off the starting block!
